Twin Planets

Twin Planets: A Sci-Fi Novella

V’Neer is facing a planetary crisis, but the leaders of the High Council refuse to look at the evidence and in some cases don’t even want to collect it. Professor Var’Noosh, the leading scientist from the Var Province and Chief Scientist at the Space Exploration Institute, retires in dismay when he fails to get the High Council to invest in more science to study the crisis that plagues their planet.

His daughter, Tria Var’Noosh, picks up where he left off, but instead of entering the scientific arena she enters the political arena. As Governor of the Var Province she does all she can to set up scientific institutes to study the anecdotal evidence of the planetary disaster that is coming from districts around the province.

Eventually, the crisis comes to breaking point — both in the political arena and the environment. Tria loses an election to become Chief of the Var Province and a volcanic eruption devastates the southern Paq Province where her daughter, Roran, has been on a research mission for her university work.

Can Tria save both her daughter and her society in time? Or will she need to make a choice?
