A Haiku and Some Updates

Whew! It’s been a busy week for me, but as life has a way of making you do what it wants (not what you want) I have spent the last few days resting.

This haiku is based on a  true story. This past Saturday, in an attempt to setup a “standing” desk for teaching, I dropped a large—but thankfully empty—plastic container on my right big toe. The edge of the container landed in such a way that it made contact directly on the bed of my toe nail causing severe pain—like really severe. I cursed. Loudly—and later swelling which prevent me from walking in a normal gait.

For most of Saturday and Sunday when I wasn’t teaching online, I was resting in bed. I’m thankful for the rest because sometimes you just have to slow down and if you don’t do it yourself, life will find a way to make you do it.

I’ve been working on a number of projects—which I’m REALLY excited about—but I did need a break so I’m thankful for it.

On June 7, 2021, I plan to launch my debut haiku collection, Haiku Ponderings, based on my podcast The Haiku Pond. The ebook will be available on 10+ retailers world wide including the big ones such as Apple, Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble and many others. You can pre-order today at http://books2read.com/haiku

ALL of that said, the best places to check for updates on my writing (apart from social media) are my newsletter and website.

Here’s today’s haiku. I’m off to rest some more before teaching my evening lessons. Happy Tuesday everyone!
